April Edition
Every so often, something happens that stops us mid conversation, mid site visit, mid everything really – and reminds us what it’s all actually about. This month, it’s not a project milestone or a beautifully finished staircase (though we do love those). It’s something much, much better…
At 6:33am on Tuesday 14th April, the newest (and possibly smallest) member of our extended team made his grand entrance into the world. We’re beyond thrilled to share that Emily—Mike’s indispensable right hand and all-round force of nature—has welcomed a beautiful baby boy.
For a few days, he kept everyone on their toes without a name (already showing signs of strong decision-making skills), but we can now officially introduce him: Leo.
Weighing in at a very respectable 7lbs 12oz, Leo has already made quite the impression. We’re told he arrived bright and early, clearly keen to get started—something he already has in common with his mummy. And, as if this wasn’t already a company affair, Leo’s daddy is none other than Sam Bernie, the man behind the lens who captures our work so brilliantly. It seems only fitting that between them, Emily and Sam have created something even more impressive than any of our projects—though we suspect this one might be slightly less predictable on a schedule.
Emily has been at the heart of so much we do, bringing energy, calm, humour (and let’s be honest, a fair bit of organisation) to the team, almost forever. It’s strange not having her at the centre of things day-to-day, but we couldn’t be happier knowing exactly why.
There’s something rather special about moments like this in a small, close-knit company like ours. We may not technically be family, but times like these blur that line in the best possible way. Leo has already been the subject of much discussion across London, the Cotswolds and Surrey—site meetings have featured a surprising amount of baby talk – and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
So, here’s to Emily, Sam and little Leo. We’re all completely smitten already and can’t wait to meet him.
