RENOVATION & RESTORATION

COTSWOLDS

Upper Southmead Farm has been in the
ownership of our clients, a farming family, for years. The project involved the renovation and restoration of the original Grade II listed cottage which provided 1,000 sq ft of accommodation.

Planning and Listed Building Consent were also obtained for a 4,000 sq ft extension to enable our clients to have additional space to care for their mother who had always lived on the farm.

The new extension incorporated ground floor bedroom and living facilities, along with a large open plan kitchen/family room, fitted with a local Parlour Farm, joinery made kitchen including a cosy dog bunk bed and a locally built Everhot range cooker.

The new modern building is in contrast to, and compliments, the listed cottage and is sympathetically linked. It features a Tata steel and single ply roof and huge amounts of glazing, taking in the fabulous views and directly linking the property to the farm and farming stock which are now essentially in the garden. The project took one year to complete.
