The other New Year

September Edition
September has always felt like a second New Year. The summer holidays come to an end, routines begin again and there’s a natural urge to start afresh. Whether it’s a little autumn clear-out, a new project or simply making more of the home you already have, this time of year is a good opportunity for a reset.
In this month’s journal, we’re looking at new beginnings, the changing season and the latest news from the Castellum team.

A new chapter

This September marks the start of a new chapter for Phoebe, who has officially joined the Castellum team following her graduation from the University of Liverpool with a first-class degree in Marketing.

Phoebe has been part of the Castellum team throughout her university studies, working part-time as a Marketing Assistant and supporting everything from social media and content creation to website updates and marketing materials. In her new role as Group Marketing Executive, she will take on a broader remit across the business, from developing Castellum’s brand presence and managing digital content to supporting new business and the ongoing development of the company’s marketing strategy.

Having spent the last few years getting to know the business, we’re delighted to welcome Phoebe into her new role and look forward to seeing what the next chapter brings.

A day at Wentworth

On Saturday 19th September, we enjoyed a day at Wentworth for the BMW PGA Championship. With some fantastic golf, good company and the chance to catch Rory McIlroy’s eagle on the 18th, it was a memorable day.

It was also a great opportunity to catch up with friends and industry contacts, including Raj Heir of Heir Project Management, Ricky West of Regency Grove and Stuart McLauchlan of SHH Architecture & Interiors, alongside their partners.

The R&H Cup

On 24th September, Castellum joined the R&H Golf Group for the R&H Cup at The Drift Golf Club. The day brought together a fantastic mix of golf, friendly competition and plenty of opportunities to catch up with familiar faces and meet new ones.

From the golf clinic and putting competition to the main event, it was a brilliant day spent out on the course, with some great players and great company along the way.

A winning day

It was a successful day on the course for Sam, whose team came away in first place at the charity golf day at Fulwell Golf Club, raising money for the Steve Talboys Foundation.

The Foundation works to help young people access sport, regardless of their financial circumstances, while also supporting the installation of defibrillators in communities and clubs across the UK.

A great cause, a day of golf and a winning result – not a bad combination!

CrossFit win

Swapping site boots for training shoes, Rebecca took on a slightly different kind of heavy lifting this month at a local Cotswolds CrossFit competition.

Competing in the same-sex pairs event, Rebecca and her teammate had a brilliant day, pushing themselves through the competition and coming away as winners. A fantastic achievement – and a good reminder that there is plenty of strength to be found beyond the building site!

Phil on the podium

It’s been an exciting month for Phil, who is currently leading the Mazda class in his hill climb championship.

With plenty more racing to come, we’ll be keeping an eye on how the rest of the season unfolds. Best of luck, Phil!
