A CONTEMPORARY EXTENSION TO A GRADE II LISTED
BARN ALONG WITH FULL

COTSWOLDS

Castellum sourced this site for clients and was employed on an open book Design and Build contract.

From taking an initial brief and seeing the project through planning, Castellum were on site for just over 60 weeks. Extensive ground works were required to enable the extension to be dug into the hill without being subterranean. The contemporary new extension was built to link the two existing listed barns. It has a curved metal roof and uses contemporary materials to complement the old stone barns which both required new roofs (one traditional Cotswold stone) and they were both fully remodelled and refurbished.

A ground source heat pump was installed, using five bore holes, alongside a significant rainwater harvesting system.
